Frequently asked questions
What is the Flesch Reading Ease score?
It's a 0-100 score based on sentence length and syllables per word - higher means easier to read. 90-100 is very easy (5th grade), 60-70 is plain English, and below 30 is very difficult (college graduate level).
What does the Grade Level mean?
It estimates the US school grade level a reader needs to easily understand the text (Flesch-Kincaid Grade Level formula). For most web content and marketing copy, aiming for grade 7-8 keeps text accessible to the widest audience.
Is my text sent to a server?
No - everything is calculated instantly in your browser with JavaScript. Nothing you type is transmitted or stored anywhere.
