How to Use the Screen & Mic Test
- Open the full-screen color test and cycle through solid red, green, blue, white and black screens.
- Look closely across the whole screen on each color for any pixel that stays a different color than the rest - a sign of a dead or stuck pixel.
- Check the display info panel for your exact screen resolution and color depth.
- Grant microphone access when prompted, then speak normally and watch the live volume meter respond.
- Adjust your microphone input level in your system settings if the meter barely moves or spikes too high.

No - the mic test only reads the live input level to display on screen; nothing is recorded, saved, or sent anywhere.
Why do dead pixels only show up on certain colors?
A stuck or dead pixel may only be visibly wrong against specific background colors - testing against solid red, green, blue, black, and white in turn reveals pixels that a busy desktop background would hide.
Will my browser ask for microphone permission?
Yes - your browser will prompt for microphone access before the mic level test can run; you can deny it and still use the screen/dead-pixel test independently.
